Why are some people against school vouchers?
Why should anyone be against school vouchers they help good poor kids (usually minorities) get out of failing public schools. I thought the Democrats support the poor. Also less money is spent giving students vouchers than is spent paying for public schools.
Because the teachers unions are opposed to vouchers -- because private schools are rarely unionized. No Democrat can get elected without the support of the teachers unions -- so, the Democrats have to take the side of the union over what's best for the children.
