Anyone Give Me A Good Way To Learn Casual Greek, Not Just Tourist Phrases?
I have tried Collins Easy Learning Greek Audio Course but that just includes mainly tourist phrases and while it is okay and has given me a little vocabulary it is not what I want. I want a more casual course with words and phrases you use everyday between friends, not how to ask where the tourist office is or the Supermarket.
I know Rosetta Stone is meant to do that and be the best but sadly I am a very poor student who can’t afford it, even though I have looked everywhere for even a battered and used cheap one so please don’t suggest that.
Either online, books, audio Cds or anything. Whatever is helpful.

Best for social, I think.

Be sure you get the OLD edition (2000) which I think is better than the new one.
Dialogs’ story-line is touristy-social.

I don’t imagine there’s any difference between first and second edition (2nd is cheaper now).

Great for learning about “culture” and language, with lots of pictures and good format.
I don’t imagine there’s any difference between editions. Also check out the accompanying CDs and DVDs.
==Spoken Greek – Paperback (Mar. 1, 1991) by Evris Tsakirides
This book looks a little more advanced in terms of language, but still nice format.
