Band problems…HELP?
Okay,I’m starting a band with some of my friends…but i have some problems. 1) My friends is learning drums on her schools drum set…but she dosen’t have any money to buy herself a set of drums. and ideas? 2) The drummers sister says she wants to learn the guitar…but she is one of those people who can’t stick with anything…and she dosen’t practic amd we don’t want to wait for her to try to learn. once again any ideas? 3) i live an hour away from the rest of the band…but i could move to my dads house, even though…i’d be alone…all day every day (my dad works days) and i’d have to leave my siblings, and my pets ect…any helpful ideas? 4)I am the only Christian in the group, which dosn’t bother me that much untill’ they start making rude comments jokes ect…and I don’t know what to do…help 5) And this one is sorta’ random (if theres any bassist replying) do you like/think it’s better, to play with a pick or your fingers?

For the drum thing i had this problem, i just used buckets that are turned over (or she can get cheap stuff like triangle, cowbell, wood block ect.)and then when she gets the money get and electronic drum set, i got mine for $100. Then she can just buy the separate parts for a real drum over time.
For the sister you just tell her she has a spot in the band, but that she should learn some more (i had the same problem with our guitarist). If she wants some easy songs on guitar, they are Blister in the sun, Hotel Yorba, and of course smoke on thew water to get her started.
For the distance i think what you should do is either live with your dad for a week then with your mom for a week, and then you have pretty frequent practice, or you could have longer practices when you see your dad (since he’s mostly working).
About the Christian thing it is just irrational, in our band we have a catholic, a Jew ,an atheist, and I’m looking into bud ism, and if they make jokes just tell them not to do that around you.
For the bassist, i know someone who plays bass, and he doesn’t use a pick, but i think you should try with and without a pick, and choose witch feels more comfortable(i use one for guitar)
