School Spirit Activities?
I’m running for student government president and I am trying to think of new ideas for events (lunch activities, fundraisers, etc) to do. These will be activities for a high school campus. If you are in high school or have graduated (or even middle school), do you have any event that brings a lot of spirit to your campus? Is there something that people look forward to every year? Thanks so much!
I have a great idea that will help all sports and club raise money, along with the student council. We call it the Mr. (your school name) pageant. What it is, is each club (including senior class) selects one senior to represent them.
You can have one for:
senior class
football
baseball
key club
spanish club
etc
You have the members supporting that cub to carry a can around and people will put money in it to support their candidate. Try 3 weeks. After three weeks, the top five clubs who collected the most money, their candidate gets to run for Mr. (school). The money is turned in to student council, which will be counted to announce candidates, Then they give back 50% of each club’s money to that club. The other 50% gets to go to the student council (or in our case it was senior Class – we did it for prom). You also make money by charging admission for the pageant.
Pageant: They will be judged by impartial people selected by coordinator. The boys do a beauty walk(tux), physical fitness (dance taught by cheerleaders or dance team), and an interview session back in tux. they are escorted by a girl from their group. You need to arrange for entertainment as boys change clothes.
This raises so much money for each club especially for the club that promotes it. Whole school participation and a great spirit booster. Girls get homecoming Queen . Give the guys something.
