Anyone have any soloutions for my problem?
First off I just want to let you know that my school is a tablet school and the school provides a email for each student. A couple of days ago (2 days ago), I sent a message to my friend saying “YOUR A TOOL!” It was a total joke, and I did not think that this would be a big deal. The teacher asked my friend at the end of the class what I did. My friend told him that I just sent him a few messages over email. The next day, I had two teachers during seperate occasions apporach me and ask me to get my computer and show them my emails. When they couldn’t find any evidence they approached my friend who showed them the emails. The teacher printed all the emails and showed them to my parents, to the principle, and to other teachers. What should I do? I am pretty sure that the school just took away my freedom of speech and I also think that the school invaded my privacy! Let me know what you think?
1. Your freedom of speech is limited in school.
2. You voluntarily showed them your computer upon request.
3. The E-mail belonged to your friend as well and he chose to show them.
In short, I agree the situation was taken out of context and blown out of proportion, but none of your legal or constitutional rights were infringed upon.
